Environmental Health and Safety Assistant

Job Summary

Support the Health and Safety Manager in daily operations by identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions with participants, staff, roadways, and assets. Attend operational meetings, provide communication between programs and operations, and assist with inspections for federal, state, local, and camp regulatory compliance. Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area while modeling the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions. Perform check-in operations for the Health lodge and complete the Annual Health and Medical Record. Work 45-55 hours daily, standing, walking, and hiking up to four hours with the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Basic understanding of regulatory compliance
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or camp experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain Summit UTV and vehicle permit
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 4 hours daily
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams
