Job Summary
Design cohesive environmental graphic systems for exhibit spaces, branded offices, retail interiors, trade show booths, and experiential activations. Develop concepts through mood boards, 2D layouts, and 3D visualizations, then produce all graphic assets including wall graphics, typography, dimensional signage, and display content. Read architectural floor plans and construction documents to translate designs into fabrication-ready files for vendors. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and interior designers to align creative vision with budget and timeline while selecting materials and finishes. This temporary, hands-on role at Joby supports the final stages of FAA certification for our piloted air taxi, with an anticipated duration of six months.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, experiential design, or related field
- 5 years of experience in environmental graphic design, exhibit design, or branded interiors
- A portfolio demonstrating both spatial thinking and strong graphic craft, show us work that exists in real spaces
- Experience in visual and brand design
- Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Solid understanding of large-format print production; substrates, bleed and safe zones, vendor specs, and file handoff
- Experience reading architectural drawings and translating them into graphic design solutions
- Familiarity with 3D visualization tools (SketchUp, Rhino, Blender, or similar) for concept development and client presentations
- Working knowledge of materials, finishes, and fabrication methods for physical environments
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight, real deadlines
- Clear, confident communication with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel internationally as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Motion design skills: animated content for digital signage, LED walls, or AV displays (After Effects, Premiere)
- Experience with interactive or digital experience design
- Retail and exhibition space design background
- CAD drafting experience
