Job Summary
Conduct environmental sampling of ore, water, and soil while inspecting various locations within the mining operation. Monitor dust control, water quality, and biodiversity to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare accurate records of sampling results, compliance reports, and permits for environmental assessments. Analyze data to support decision-making and assist in implementing waste management, reclamation, and biodiversity conservation programs. Adhere to health and safety standards, including the use of appropriate PPE, and support emergency response efforts for spills or contamination. Collaborate with environmental engineers, safety officers, consultants, and regulators to resolve issues and maintain the company's environmental integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant experience in environmental management or fieldwork
- Previous experience in environmental monitoring or fieldwork
- Experience preferably in the mining or natural resource industries
- Familiarity with environmental regulations (e.g., MPCA, EPA standards, local mining regulations)
- Familiarity with environmental testing methods
- Familiarity with safety standards
- Strong attention to detail
- Analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
