Job Summary
Environmental Field Technician responsible for industrial and environmental service tasks, including tank cleaning, manual remediation, waste bulking, drum handling, and demolition, under general supervision. Performs drum processing, industrial cleaning, and emergency response, operates and maintains heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, boom trucks, vacuum trucks), adheres to safety standards and PPE protocols, and communicates with supervisors on safety, quality, and integrity. Works in industrial facilities (power plants, chemical plants, mining facilities, wastewater plants, manufacturing facilities) with flexible shift schedules, and may require driving and equipment setup/breakdown. Requires operation of CDL-class vehicles (preferred), ability to pass drug tests, and basic reading/writing skills. OSHA/MSHA guidelines and ACT safety standards must be followed; pre/post training and continuous safety training are part of duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma / GED
- 2 years of experience in environmental, construction, and/or contracting related work (preferred)
- OSHA 40 Hour Training (preferred, but will train)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation
- Must be able to pass drug tests (pre-employment and random)
- Must be able to read and write
- Ability to understand basic operating instructions, safe work practices, and commercial/industrial processes
- Follow OSHA, MSHA guidelines and all ACT safety standards
- Ability to follow directions and report issues to supervisor
