Environmental Engineering Intern

Job Summary
Conduct environmental investigative and remediation projects by collecting groundwater and soil samples, inspecting remediation systems, and overseeing soil excavation. Operate and maintain gas collection systems, blower/flare operations, and condensate management while managing surface emissions monitoring and landfill construction quality assurance. Perform routine wellfield balancing, liner and final cover construction, and daily field logging. Travel with overnight stays and ensure Health and Safety standards are followed by on-site staff and sub-contractors. Consult with supervisors and clients regarding field conditions and test results. Requires a valid driver's license, mechanical aptitude, and physical ability to operate tools, lift equipment, and work in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Mechanical - Technical Aptitude with at least 1 year of experience in mechanical or construction-related fields
- Experience with Health and Safety Oriented work
- Entry level familiarity with technical instrumentation and equipment
- Meet physical requirements for driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting and carrying equipment/mechanical components (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying and climbing ladders, operating and working from man lifts, operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- 0-4 years of relevant experience preferred but not required
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Basic Computer Skills
- Effective organizational as well as written and verbal communication skills
