Job Summary
Conduct groundwater monitoring, environmental drilling, and soil sampling while taking detailed field notes and recording observations. Lead and participate in field meetings, oversee subcontractors, and implement safety plans to identify and mitigate occupational hazards. Assist with calculations, operate equipment, inspect installations for compliance, and maintain proper project documentation under general supervision. Work outdoors in rugged terrain carrying heavy equipment, adhering to regulatory frameworks and ensuring site conditions align with remediation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental related discipline
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license
- Willing to travel within the province/country for work, including extended travel
- Able to work outdoors, often in inclement weather conditions
- Physically able to walk long distances in rugged terrain and carry up to 44 lbs of equipment
- Adhere to and promote health and safety protocols in the office and field
- Identify and mitigate environmental and occupational hazards
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions as needed
- Understanding of soil and groundwater contamination processes
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., BC CSR, AEPA/AER Regs, CCME guidelines, or equivalent across Western Canada)
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Strong technical writing and documentation
- Project coordination and time management
- Effective communication with team members, clients and regulators
- Attention to detail and quality assurance
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
- Strong team work, able to listen to requirements and work well with others

Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in contaminated sites assessment and remediation
- Geologist/Engineer-in-Training (GIT/EIT) or eligible
