Job Summary
Establish environmental standards, prepare permit applications, and develop written program documents for air, wastewater, and hazardous waste compliance. Interface with regulatory agencies and vendors to direct environmental efforts while serving as a technical resource for plant staff. Collect monitoring data, synthesize findings, and support audit processes to ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory requirements. Communicate compliance issues to management and external agencies while maintaining a safe, orderly workspace. Travel 25% to different site locations and occasionally work at heights up to 250 feet. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field with less than three years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Environmental Science; Engineering; Science or related field
- Less than 3 years
- Knowledge of environmental sciences, especially those areas of biology, chemistry, and engineering which relate to pollution control principles
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and environmental reporting includes, but not limited to, hazardous waste, air, NPDES, and wastewater
- Technical writing skills
- Strong root cause investigation techniques
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks to completion
- Problem-solving, research and resolution, data analysis skills
- Excellent follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills in individual and group situations
- Interacts and works efficiently with co-workers and outside vendors/agencies in a professional manner
- Frequent travel to different site locations (25%) is required
- Occasional work at heights up to 250 feet, climb stairs/ladders and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas
- Occasional lifting or carrying 5 to 30 pounds
