Environmental Engineer or Scientist - Emergency Response

Job Summary
Conduct emergency spill response for clients in Canada West, including train derailments, pipeline releases, and chemical incidents, while maintaining 24/7 availability. Prepare emergency response plans, participate in exercises, and provide client training. Oversee contractor tasks such as containment, drilling, monitoring well installation, and site restoration. Perform field operations including water level monitoring, groundwater and soil sampling, drone/UAV surveying, and industrial hygiene air monitoring. Assist with proposal preparation, work plans, regulatory submissions, and project reports. Process and analyze data for project manager review and draft progress updates. Requires a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering or Science, 2-3 years of consulting experience, and a valid driver's license. Role is 70% field and 30% office with hybrid work options.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical or equivalent)
- 2 - 3 years of experience
- co-op experience
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
- High level of attention to detail

- Willingness and desire to travel, with the ability to work remotely and internationally
- Flexible work schedule, ability to work weekends, holidays and nights when required
- Field work will require working long hours, working in inclement weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 lbs, when required

- This position will be roughly 70% field and 30% office, with the option to work from home in our hybrid model

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in environmental investigation and remediation
- 2 - 3 years of experience required, co-op experience would be considered a benefit
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment would be an asset
