Job Summary
Initiate and plan legacy mine reclamation and remediation projects using disciplined project management practices, including scope confirmation, work breakdown structures, and risk planning. Manage execution and controls by tracking progress, issues, and dependencies while maintaining project records for traceability. Coordinate communications and reporting cadences to ensure regulatory and client deadlines are met, and manage vendors and subcontractors under defined procedures. Support digital field data collection and standardized reporting workflows, preparing deliverables for review before external use. Escalate risks and deviations early using leading indicators to support on-time, on-budget delivery. Close out projects with complete documentation and lessons learned. This role is based in the U.S. West region with a three-day-in-office hybrid model.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, Geotechnical, Environmental, or Mining Engineering, or related field
- Approximately 5+ years of technical experience in environmental remediation and site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation, project coordination, and managing clients
- Project management experience beyond day-to-day task management (e.g., defining project scope/objectives, establishing and monitoring budgets, allocating resources, anticipating/mitigating risks)
- Understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience coordinating projects, task teams, and technical work packages
- Ability and willingness to travel to client meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, or client management
- Exposure to project management systems such as project accounting software (e.g., BST, Deltek, etc.), MS Project, and/or Primavera P6
- Experience in remediation and reclamation of legacy mine sites
- CERCLA, RCRA, and/or state-led remediation program experience
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- MSHA 24-hour New Miner training
- PE
