Job Summary
Conduct and oversee site inspections, assessments, investigations, and cleanups in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines. Synthesize and document data relating to environmental compliance tasks, including stormwater, wastewater, air quality, and waste regulations. Provide field support and supervision as needed for environmental site investigations and cleanups. Review and prepare permits, pollution prevention plans, and regulatory-driven reporting to ensure project objectives are met. Support junior engineers and manage company resources to deliver proper project outputs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or other engineering discipline
- Five to ten years of experience working on environmental projects, or five to ten years working in an environmental analytical laboratory
- Must meet ADEC's definition of a Qualified Professional
- A broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company's Driving Policy
- Ability to pass drug and background screening
- Knowledge of the practical application of environmental engineering science and technology
- Knowledge and understanding of RCRA, NPDES, CWA, OPPA, CAA, and other applicable laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules governing environmental projects and programs
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to use analytical skills alongside scientific rules and methods to solve problems and apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
- Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively and clearly communicate complex information to others as well as to present information in front of a group
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy with directions and mentorship
- Ability to act as an effective team member
- Ability to effectively manage tasks and be self-directed in meeting deliverables
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in federal government projects
- 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations certificate
- Familiar with federal and state regulations relating to stormwater, wastewater, air quality/emissions, oil storage, and waste in PE-licensed state(s)
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations relating to environmental restoration projects in same state(s)
- Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher
- ArcGIS experience
- Experience with Health and Safety functions
