Job Summary
The Environmental Engineer position involves contaminated site characterization, monitoring, remediation, and preparation of planning and reporting documents. Responsibilities include conducting field assessments, installing and operating remediation systems, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a valid driver’s license. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other technical programs is essential. Various levels of experience apply, ranging from entry-level to senior positions, each with specific requirements regarding years of relevant experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a preference for civil, environmental, chemical, or geotechnical
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- US Citizen
- Proficient in computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and databases such as Access
- Adept at explaining technical aspects of fieldwork to internal and external clients verbally and in writing
- Level I: Zero to Three years of relevant professional working experience
- Level II: Three to Five years of relevant professional working experience
- Level III: Five to Seven years of relevant professional working experience
- Level Senior: Eight or more years of relevant professional working experience
- Professional Engineer Registration
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in other programs such as Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, GIS, databases, and environmental modeling programs
- ADEC qualified environmental professional
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER
- 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification
- CPR/1st Aid/AED Certified
- Engineer-in-Training certification
- Experience working on projects with Federal clients
- Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures
