Job Summary

Conduct environmental compliance assurance programs by auditing internal and external resources, preparing regulatory reports, and managing air, wastewater, and solid waste programs. Lead safety initiatives through active interventions, safety audits, and performance reporting while interfacing with state agencies and community members. Coordinate regulatory compliance testing, evaluate capital projects for permitting needs, and manage environmental outage coordination for routine and annual outages. Fill in for the Environmental Manager when needed and act as the owner's representative for contractors. Drive improvement projects using Manufacturing Excellence tools and develop standard operating procedures. Serve on a weekend duty rotation for 24-hour coverage during outages.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Environmental or Chemical engineering, environmental sciences or related technical field, or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2-5 years of experience in the area of environmental compliance
  • Knowledge and experience with practical application of environmental regulations
  • Plant Applications and PI Process Book experience
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, experience with PI process book, Proficy Plant Apps, and DAS
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry
