Job Summary
Part-time Environmental Educator (Independent Contractor) for Trees Atlanta, teaching urban-forest focused STEAM curriculum in Atlanta-area schools and leading school-break camps. Responsibilities include delivering in-school programs, preparing materials, leading field trips and outdoor activities (e.g., bike rides, tree ID), supervising campers during breaks, developing and co-creating engaging environmental education activities, and supporting community outreach events. Requires reliable transportation, ability to ride a bike, background check and drug screening, and availability 7 am–5 pm during school terms with 10–20 hours per week on-site and occasional evenings/weekends. Start August 2026; contract-based with variable hours dependent on school calendars and bookings.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a car and an available schedule to visit schools at requested times
- Ability to confidently ride a bike
- Ability to pass a drug screen and an APS Background Check including fingerprinting
- Must-Have Skills: Ability to engage with and manage behavior for children PK-12; willingness to learn about environmental education topics; timeliness, reliability, and flexibility; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
