Job Summary
Environmental Development Manager responsible for planning, leading and managing environmental due diligence and risk management across properties for industrial, data center, and multifamily uses. Responsibilities include reviewing environmental reports to assess conditions and regulatory status, developing investigation and remediation work scopes with consultants, supporting property transaction decisions regarding environmental liabilities and costs, interfacing with regulatory agencies, attorneys, sellers, buyers, investors and lenders, advising construction teams on earthwork, soil management, and permit-compliance requirements, and assisting in developing budgetary estimates for environmental-related costs in redevelopment project proformas. Requires 5–10 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or corporate roles, with expertise in brownfield investigations, soil/groundwater/vapor intrusion programs, and familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, and state voluntary cleanup programs. Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or corporate roles
- Experience performing environmental due diligence on brownfield properties
- Designing and managing environmental investigation programs (soil, groundwater, etc.)
- Familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, state voluntary cleanup programs
- Knowledge of vapor intrusion mitigation and soil-management practices
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to stakeholders
- Self-directed, client-service mentality in a fast-paced environment
