Job Summary
Environmental Coordinator role based in Ely, NV, supporting environmental permitting and compliance for electrical utility construction. Responsibilities include conducting environmental training for construction crews, managing subcontractor resources, performing field monitoring and inspections for environmental compliance (including hydrocarbon spills, erosion and sediment control, and sensitive resource mitigation), updating SPCC and SWPPP plans, installing/maintaining erosion and sediment controls, and facilitating effective communication with Project Management, field superintendents, clients, and vendors. Requires strong written and verbal communication, MS Office proficiency, ability to work outside, and willingness to travel; six-day work weeks on project sites in remote southern Idaho and eastern Nevada.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Biology, or another related field
- Work experience in a related/relevant field (stormwater, geology, hydrology, biology, etc.)
- General knowledge of environmental laws, regulations and permitting at the Federal, State and local levels
- Experience conducting and documenting fieldwork
- Capable of performing strenuous fieldwork and walking long distances
- Environmental permitting experience helpful
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various levels of staff and personality types
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Must be able to work outside and travel, as necessary
- Must have a valid state driver’s license
