Job Summary
Manage environmental contractors and execute progressive rehabilitation projects to achieve land management targets. Monitor erosion and sediment control while developing Environmental Management plans covering land, vegetation, cultural heritage, and waste. Collaborate on sustainability initiatives, support reporting and assurance activities, and provide land disturbance advice for permitting. Act within the workforce to raise environmental awareness and mentor the environment team. This role reports to the Environmental Superintendent and requires tertiary qualifications in environmental science or engineering with 4+ years of mining experience. Full-time permanent position at Moranbah North Mine with Monday to Friday site hours. Competitive salary, annual bonus, and superannuation included.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering or equivalent discipline
- 4+ years extensive and practical experience in managing environmental and civil engineering projects within Resources or Mining industry (preferably Coal)
- Supervisor qualifications – S1,2,3 & G2 (or capable of obtaining)
- Demonstrated experience contributing to a team of professionals to deliver against set targets
- Experience with Risk Management Processes and contractor management
- Experience with and active participation in implementing fauna management permits such as damage mitigation permit
- Track record in driving continuous improvement
- Experience in developing and implementing solutions to complex environmental issues and facilitating continuous improvement in performance
- Ability to understand functionality of business systems and extract relevant data for business purposes
- Experience in understanding, interpreting, and analysing relevant environmental data
- Experience using ArcGIS (Pro) or similar mapping software
- Holds a Rehabilitation Permit (advantageous)
- Completed Venomous Snake Relocation Course or willing to (advantageous)
- Full-time permanent position based at Moranbah North Mine, Moranbah
