Job Summary
Environmental Control Technician B at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Puget Sound (WA) – on-site role focused on hazardous waste management including identification, labeling, collection, transportation, storage, treatment, recycling, and repackaging. Maintain compliance with State, Local, and Federal hazardous waste regulations; operate and inspect equipment used for hazardous waste handling; perform limited testing of hazardous wastes per laboratory procedures; manage inventory through systems like HAZTRAX and Crib Master; prepare records for regulatory inspections and audits; respond to spills with appropriate PPE; conduct TPM on related equipment; collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure chemical information accuracy and safety procedures; participate in process improvements; maintain certifications and coordinate with shop personnel across shifts; require 100% onsite work and US Person status for export-control compliance; shift details and total rewards described in posting; English language requirement; relocation assistance not negotiable.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience handling chemicals and/or hazardous material
- 2+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft applications and/or other specialized computer applications
- Currently possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 pound
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience handling chemicals and/or hazardous material
- Forklift and/or electric pallet jack experience
- Experience operating equipment for hazardous waste management
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work onsite in Puget Sound, WA
- English proficiency
- Conflict of Interest clearance (COI) may be required
