Job Summary
Conduct stormwater and NPDES inspections on active residential and commercial construction sites, evaluating erosion and sediment controls and Best Management Practices for compliance. Identify deficiencies, document findings accurately, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to site personnel while collaborating with project managers and superintendents. Prepare timely inspection reports using proprietary software and deliver on-site compliance guidance to support client education. Manage a multi-site inspection schedule across the Greater Atlanta region with minimal oversight, traveling to job sites for local day travel and occasional extended trips. Requires National or Georgia Erosion and Sediment Control Certification, reliable transportation, and proficiency with mobile technology. Required Qualifications
- National or Georgia Erosion and Sediment Control Certification (CPESC, CESSWI, CPSWQ, or state equivalent) — or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire (training provided by HB NEXT)
- Reliable personal transportation and a clean MVR
- Proficiency with mobile technology
- Ability to adapt to changing site and weather conditions
- Attention to Detail: Accurate observation and documentation of site conditions and control measures
- Client Communication: Ability to build trust with site personnel and deliver compliance feedback in a constructive, professional manner
- Independent Execution: Comfortable managing a dynamic field schedule with little day-to-day supervision
- Adaptability: Able to work effectively in varying weather, terrain, and site conditions
- Integrity: Consistent, objective reporting that reflects actual site conditions
- Must be comfortable navigating uneven terrain and working in a physically active environment year-round
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, field inspection, environmental consulting, or related field is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — ability to clearly explain compliance issues to contractors and project teams
- Highly organized and self-directed — comfortable managing your own schedule and priorities in the field
