Job Summary
Supervise daily landfill operations, staff, contractors, and consultants while reviewing work to ensure quality, timeliness, and adherence to policies and procedures. Coordinate workflow, assignments, repairs, maintenance, and inspections, and monitor the implementation of safety regulations. Collect weekly and monthly readings, create records, and submit reports. Oversee personnel needs through coaching, training, and performance evaluations. This role operates in inside garage, shop, gas plant, and outside conditions including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. The position is safety sensitive and requires strict compliance with all safety rules and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited)
- 1 year to three (3) years of previous relevant experience (in addition to education requirement)
- Must be able to climb
- Must be able to balance
- Must be able to sit
- Must have hearing ability
- Must have repetitive motion tolerance
- Must have eye/hand/foot coordination
- Must be able to work in inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions
- Must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity
- Must strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols
- Must be subject to drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or equivalent technical degree
- One (1) three (3) years of landfill O&M, Landfill construction or equivalent environmental field experiences
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA and/or automation/control systems
- Health, safety and environmental regulations knowledge
- Supervisory experience
