Job Summary
Environmental Compliance Specialist – Waste Services role in Baton Rouge focused on solid and hazardous waste permitting, reporting, inspections, and regulatory compliance for industrial, commercial, and governmental clients. Responsibilities include preparing waste management and closure plans, regulatory reports, tank compliance activities, volume calculations, data collection and analysis, and collaboration with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies. Travel to project sites and CK offices is required (approximately 25%). Ideal candidate will have several years of environmental, waste management, industrial operations, or regulatory compliance experience and strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to interpret regulations; and the ability to manage multiple projects and relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in environmental compliance, waste management, industrial operations, environmental consulting, remediation, or a related field
- Experience with solid and hazardous waste management, permitting, reporting, or compliance activities preferred
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, and applicable state regulations preferred
- Understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Strong technical writing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to real-world compliance situations
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to develop and maintain positive client relationships
- Willingness to travel to project sites and client facilities (approximately 25% travel, including occasional overnight stays)
- Must be able to satisfy all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security requirements, including obtaining a TWIC card
- Must possess a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to safely operate a full-size pickup truck
- Motivated to succeed both independently and as part of a team
