Job Summary
Develop and maintain a site Environmental Compliance Plan covering hazardous, universal, and solid waste management, fuel storage, recycling, and spill prevention protocols. Ensure proper labeling, storage, and removal of hazardous waste at designated Satellite Accumulation Areas and the centralized Hazardous Waste Building while inspecting and documenting conditions against regulatory requirements. Conduct on-site inventories of hazardous materials, oversee subcontractor waste pickups and compactor maintenance, and manage fuel storage system upkeep. Report monthly on fuel tank inspections, deliveries, consumption, waste inventories, recycling updates, and spill kit status. Assist with EPCRA reporting and address other environmental, safety, and health compliance issues as needed. This role supports mission-critical operations in secure environments within a new Government office and warehouse facility.
Required Qualifications
- US citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain clearance
- Ability to work independently in a secure or sensitive environment
- Relevant Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience managing environmental compliance in accordance with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
- 40-hr HAZWOPER and DOT HazMat certification
- Organized and methodical in managing tasks, ensuring all steps are completed without oversight
- Proficiency using MS Office (including MS Word and Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of professionalism for client interaction
Desired Qualifications
- Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene majors
- CHMM certification
