Job Summary
Environmental Compliance Manager and Site Inspector responsible for leading regulatory compliance efforts across Montana facilities, including environmental permitting, compliance reporting, facility assessments, and implementing best management practices. Acts as the primary client liaison, oversees inspections and sampling of stormwater and aboveground storage tanks, guides waste management, and mentors staff on compliance tasks. Travel for fieldwork or client-site visits up to two weeks at a time; works with facility personnel to update plans and corrective actions; collaborates on regulatory audits, assessments, and inspection forms; prepares environmental compliance reports and plans; supports sustainability goals, climate action, and resiliency planning; conducts regulatory analyses and project reports.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in environmental science, or related field
- 3 or more years of professional experience
- Experience with Federal and Montana environmental regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting environmental compliance inspections, sampling and/or audits
- Experience with project management and compliance program development including SOPs, training, guidance, etc.
- Comfortable working in both an office, remote field, and industrial environment
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER training and First Aid/CPR certifications are a plus
- The position requires a background check, valid driver’s license in good standing, and potential random drug screenings
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day
- Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
