Environmental Assurance Lead

Job Summary
Lead environmental management across major infrastructure projects in Ireland from inception to delivery, overseeing planning, assessment, compliance, and implementation for metro, aviation, rail, water, and highway schemes. Ensure statutory approvals and consent conditions are met while developing management systems, monitoring contractor performance, and auditing project requirements. Manage environmental risks and mitigation measures throughout the lifecycle, providing guidance to project teams and leading engagement with regulators and stakeholders. Coordinate environmental reporting and drive continuous improvement to support sustainability objectives including carbon and biodiversity initiatives. This hybrid role requires office and site attendance, primarily in and around Dublin, with an application deadline of 06.09.2026. Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in environmental management on major infrastructure or construction projects (e.g. rail, metro, highways, water, aviation)
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, regulations and consenting processes in Ireland (or comparable jurisdictions)
- Experience with Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and environmental management systems
- Proven ability to lead environmental delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary programmes
- Experience working with contractors to ensure environmental compliance and performance on site
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working with regulators and public authorities
- Ability to identify environmental risks and implement practical, effective mitigation strategies
- Good understanding of sustainability principles, including carbon management, climate resilience and biodiversity
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across all levels
- Proactive, collaborative and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment
- Degree in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CEnv, ISEP, APM, IPM, PMI or equivalent)
