Job Summary

Interpret regulations and permit requirements to identify potential risk areas for generation facilities. Design, execute, and evaluate environmental study plans for wastewater systems, including water monitoring, flow measurement, and treatment systems. Diligently review data and present results to stakeholders while serving as an accredited sampler in the departmental quality system. Provide efficient response and troubleshooting for customer requests across Southern Company Generation and Nuclear divisions. This role involves a mix of hands-on field work, project management, and data analysis to ensure compliance with water quality regulations. The standard work-week is four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (e.g., Environmental, Civil, or Chemical) or non-engineering science-related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science)
  • 4 10-hour days, Monday-Thursday

  • Computer and software skills, able to manage large datasets
  • Knowledge of various software packages outside of Microsoft Office
