Environment Modeling Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervise the creation of 3D environments, sets, and props that align with the Production Designer's and Art Director's vision and the show's visual style. Lead environment modeling reviews to provide clear, specific, and constructive feedback on design fidelity, silhouette, proportion, structure, and overall quality. Ensure environment models meet technical requirements and pipeline standards so they integrate smoothly with Layout, Surfacing, FX, CFX, and Lighting. Work closely with Technical Supervisors, TDs, and Production Technology to support and refine environment modeling tools, workflows, and asset libraries. Mentor and support environment modelers, helping to identify training needs and contributing to performance feedback and skill development. This role is based out of Sydney, Australia in a hybrid capacity of minimum 3 days a week in the office.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience as an Environment/Set/Prop Modeler in feature animation, VFX, or high‐end games/series, including time in a Lead or Supervisory role
- A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in environment and prop modeling (stylized and/or realistic), with clear understanding of design, form, scale, and composition
- Proficiency in modeling tools such as Maya
- Proficiency in sculpting tools such as ZBrush or Mudbox
- Strong understanding of how environments interact with Layout, Surfacing, FX, CFX, and Lighting within a production pipeline
- Great communication and leadership skills, with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback and collaborate effectively across departments
- Strong organizational and time‐management skills
- This role is based out of Sydney, Australia
- Hybrid Role (Minimum of 3 days a week in the office)
Desired Qualifications
- experience with procedural or vegetation tools (e.g., Houdini, SpeedTree) is a plus
