Job Summary
Inspect and evaluate environments, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards. Identify potential hazards, recommend corrective actions, and educate employees on best practices through training programs. Investigate accidents and near misses to determine root causes, oversee environmental compliance permits, and maintain MSDS/SDS files. Issue and revise Job Safety Analysis documents, chair safety committee meetings, and lead continuous improvement initiatives for environmental, health, and safety practices. Based at Louisville, KY with travel to other facilities, this role supports sustainability projects and requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years of industrial health, safety, and environmental management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced computer skills for report writing and metrics tracking
- Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, sustainability practices, and environmental compliance
- Experience in leading safety training and audits
- Must be based at Louisville, KY operations facility
- Must be available for travel to other facilities or as required
