Job Summary
Develop and maintain the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Plan (SHEMP) while overseeing site programs for confined space, lockout/tagout, and hazardous materials. Conduct regular facility inspections to identify hazards, document incidents, and track corrective actions to closure. Ensure compliance with NASA, FAA, OSHA, and AS9100/9110 requirements by managing industrial hygiene, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills. Coordinate waste disposal, environmental audits, and safety training for personnel, subcontractors, and visitors. Serve as the on-site focal point for incident response and mishap investigations, reporting metrics to the AOS Site Lead. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 7 years of EHS experience, and Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field
- Equivalent military or technical experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible EHS experience
- 3 years in an aerospace, manufacturing, or maintenance environment
- Thorough understanding of NASA Safety and Health Plan (SHEMP) requirements
- Knowledge of FAA/NASA mishap investigation procedures
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must pass background check
- Must pass drug screening
- Ability to respond to after-hours incidents and emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry
- HAZWOPER (40-hour) or equivalent hazardous materials training
- ISO 14001/45001 internal auditor certification
- Experience developing and implementing EHS programs in aircraft maintenance, modification, or industrial operations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems
- Experience using incident-tracking databases
- Skilled in risk assessment, hazard analysis, and corrective/preventive action management
- Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for management and Government customers
