Job Summary
Environment Artist responsible for creating high-quality, visually compelling environments and assets optimized for real-time game engines. You will collaborate with the Art Director and cross-functional teams to maintain artistic direction, ensure performance and memory targets, and contribute to pipelines and production processes. Must demonstrate strong understanding of composition, color theory, storytelling, and proficiency with tools such as Unreal Engine or Unity, Substance Painter, and related 3D software. The role emphasizes delivering asset quality while adapting to various game styles and platforms and pushing visual innovation within technical constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as an Environment Artist within the video game industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality game assets.
- Strong understanding of composition, colour theory, visual storytelling and an eye for detail.
- Experience creating optimized assets for modern real-time game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Experienced with Substance Painter and 3D software
- Proficient in high-poly and low-poly modelling and knowledge of various texturing workflows.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, communicate ideas effectively, and incorporate feedback throughout production.
- Knowledge of game development pipelines and the ability to adapt artistic styles to suit various game genres and target platforms.
