Job Summary
Conduct daily and restorative cleaning tasks in all patient care and support areas of hospital or satellite facilities. Deliver clean linen, replenish floor stock and housekeeping supplies cost effectively, and operate cleaning equipment safely. Develop familiarity with chemical precautions, use, and disposal methods. Remove and replace drapes and cubicle curtains as needed. Perform other duties as assigned and act in a charge capacity when required. Requires ability to follow oral or written instructions, tolerate prolonged standing, and handle physical demands including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions in order to perform all cleaning tasks that are required to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, stretch, twist and turn while performing manual tasks that require manual dexterity
- Lifting 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Pushing and pulling 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Physical tolerance to cleaning agents and chemicals
- Must be able to assess situations and prioritize workload demands while coping with stressful situations
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids
