Job Summary
Generate, analyze, and interpret experimental data to develop and improve welding processes, including validating numerical welding models. Actively advance welding processes in close collaboration with simulation experts, integrating mechanistically grounded understanding of the relationships between process, microstructure, and properties. Apply and integrate modern technologies to further develop welding applications and enhance welding models. Identify and evaluate new technologies and trends in the welding field. The role requires a PhD in mechanical engineering, materials science, or related fields with strong analytical skills and proficiency in German and English. Salary is €60,962.30 gross per annum with 13 pay periods.
Required Qualifications
- Promotion (PhD) in Maschinenbau, Materialwissenschaften, Technischer Physik, Technischer Chemie oder einer artverwandten Fachrichtung
- ausgeprägter Affinität zur Schweißtechnik
- Kenntnisse laserbasierter Verfahren
- Bereitschaft zur Weiterqualifikation als Schweißfachingenieur:in (IEW/EWE)
- Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
