Job Summary
Service Advisors greet customers, listen to their description of the problems or service needed, determine the type of service required and prepare repair orders. They estimate additional costs for repairs, obtain customer permission, advise on other available services, prepare repair estimates, communicate with customers about inspections and costs, schedule service appointments, reference service history, and ensure proper documentation and billing. They also instruct customers on vehicle care according to manufacturers' specifications and handle inquiries and paperwork, including obtaining signatures and payment arrangements. The role emphasizes clear communication with customers, accurate cost estimates, and collaboration with technicians and dispatchers to manage service flow. A valid driver's license is required and background checks/drug screening are completed as part of pre-employment.
