Job Summary
Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance on Baggage Handling Systems, including dismantling, repair, rebuilding, and cleaning of all mechanical components. Learn to troubleshoot and replace parts such as belts, sheaves, motors, and hydraulic systems under direct supervision. Inspect equipment for proper operation, clear operational issues like jams, and assist with resetting belt tension and tracking. Work under the supervision of a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic or Control Systems Technician to support daily airport operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical work experience
- Capable of working without direct supervision for more than fifty (50%) of the time
- Capable of completing a task with minimal supervision after proper training
- Fully proficient with, and capable of operating, mechanical hand tools
- Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation)
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen
- Must be able to successfully pass a driver's license check
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check
- Must be able to successfully pass required federal fingerprinting
- Must be able to successfully pass security threat assessment
- Must be able to successfully pass airport security badging
