Job Summary
Monitor server and network environments to ensure 99.99+ uptime, detecting errors via display screens, alert emails, and third-party vendor communication. Manage DNS operations including initial setup, updates, backups, and deletions, while performing log extraction to support troubleshooting. Execute network support tasks such as firewall IP blocking, connectivity testing with ping and tracert, and hardware replacements for HDD, RAM, RAID batteries, and NICs. Conduct physical server and network gear mounting, perform volume expansion, and execute scheduled maintenance and condition checks in the data center. Troubleshoot email environments using IMAP repair tools and service restarts, making customer reports and maintenance announcements. Utilize CLI for all tasks, update configuration documentation, and resolve issues with limited resources while communicating effectively in business-level Japanese.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year-college or technical school
- one to two years related experience
- or equivalent combination of education and experience
- strong passion to learn and work with us
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with text editing, preferably Vi
- Ability to type 60 WPM
- Ability to resolve any issue with limited time and resources
- Ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to make good communications with other Departments
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients and customers
- Writing and verbal communication skills in Business level Japanese
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
