Job Summary
On-site Entry Level Support Engineer in New Plymouth, NZ, working a 38-hour week (Mon-Thu 8 hours, Fri 6 hours) across client sites in the education sector. First point of contact for IT-related issues, delivering customer-focused technical support via phone, email, chat, and face-to-face interactions. Manage the ticket board, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, escalate when needed, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Requires travel between sites and attention to detail for daily timesheets. Desirable knowledge includes Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, Azure Active Directory, FortiGate firewalls, switching and wireless technologies, and printers/copiers. Must be a NZ citizen or hold permanent residency and possess a NZ driver’s license. No company vehicle provided.
Required Qualifications
- NZ citizenship or NZ permanent residency
- NZ Driver's License (Full or Restricted)
- 38 hour working week
- On-site role in New Plymouth
- Experience providing IT support and customer service
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
- Ticketing system documentation and tracking
- Desirable: Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, Azure Active Directory, FortiGate, networking and wireless technologies (Ruckus, Aruba/HP, Aerohive)
- Travel between sites may be required
