Job Summary
Greet donors at the entrance and exit of the donor floor, perform venipuncture, and program the plasmapheresis machine while monitoring donors for reactions. Manage donor reactions, install and prime disposable sets, and stock supplies. Record donor vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, perform finger sticks, and enter data into the Donor Information System. Coordinate donors to the floor and process payments using the Debit Card system. Support center management by identifying operational improvements through 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen. This part-time role requires flexibility, with shifts typically lasting 4 to 6 hours, 3+ days per week, and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
- Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
- Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
- 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear (due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens)
- 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful
