Entry - Level Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary
Welcome patients at all pharmacy entry points with compassion and acknowledge their needs immediately. Process orders in person and by phone, direct patients to products, and refer prescription and over-the-counter questions to the pharmacist. Maintain a clean work environment, use pharmacy computers to search profiles, determine fill dates, quote cash prices, and enter invoices across drop-off, will call, drive-thru, and phone channels. Transcribe prescription data accurately to generate custom labels, file written prescriptions daily, and manage inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs. Answer telephone inquiries politely, resolve customer concerns by communicating with management and support staff, and follow all company, state, and federal policies including HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales. Complete required training programs and exams.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
- At least 18 years of age
- Up to 25 pounds lifting requirement
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 6 months experience
- Knowledge of all appropriate service and business metrics
- Knowledge of HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales policies
- Knowledge of point of sale policies
- Ability to search for patients and profiles
- Ability to determine dates of fill and pick-up
- Ability to determine prescriptions sent to Central Fill
- Ability to quote cash prices of prescriptions
- Ability to check on-hand counts of medications
- Ability to enter invoices
- Ability to transcribe data from prescriptions accurately
- Ability to order, receive, stock and rotate drugs and other supplies
- Ability to answer telephone in a polite and timely manner
- Ability to exchange accurate information
- Ability to communicate effectively with the customer and the management team and support staff
- Ability to file written prescriptions daily
- Ability to complete required training program and accompanying exams
