Entry-level Medical Receptionist (Spanish/ English bilingual)

Job Summary
Welcome patients into the clinic, communicate anticipated wait times, and check them in by verifying demographic and insurance information. Complete patient registration for walk-ins, collect out-of-pocket responsibilities, and schedule follow-up appointments for cast measurements, deliveries, or prosthetic care plans. Act as a concierge for patient services, support groups, and resources while assisting the RCM team with missing information. Maintain accurate electronic healthcare records and key at 30 words per minute with accuracy. Use Alpha filing system, Windows-based software, and office equipment including fax and copiers. This entry-level role supports the Patient Care segment of Hanger, Inc., the world's premier orthotic and prosthetic provider, with no extensive healthcare experience required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Less than one year of customer service, administrative or related experience
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures
- Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Ability to work with handicapped individuals
- Understanding of Alpha filing system
- Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Be at minimum a good fit for the job, as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment
- Experience in a receptionist position or experience with medical front office procedures
- Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology and an understanding of front office (receptionist) duties
- Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills
