Job Summary
Operate CNC lathes and vertical mills to produce and repair tooling and parts according to specifications. Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot machines in metal and wood pattern shops while reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings. Use precision measuring tools to ensure quality and maintain accurate production records. Perform routine machine maintenance, follow all safety protocols, and collaborate with supervisors to meet production goals. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support manufacturing operations with other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Completion certificate from a recognized machining training program
- minimum of 5 years of experience working in a job shop, tool & die shop, or similar equivalent that utilizes CNC manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge and capability of programming and operating CNC lathes and vertical mills
- Ability to set up, operate, and effectively use machines typically found in metal or wood pattern shops
- Ability to use measuring tools accurately and precisely
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Must provide personal tools necessary to perform job functions
- Good housekeeping habits and strict adherence to company and government safety rules and laws
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions
- Safety focus (Personal protective equipment [PPE] required in manufacturing facilities)
- Driver's License
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
