Job Summary
Assist experienced machinists with machining, fabrication, and repair activities for pumps, turbines, compressors, and motors. Support setup of materials, tools, and equipment while learning safe operation of lathes, mills, and drill presses. Measure, inspect, and document parts under guidance; read blueprints and work instructions. Perform basic shop tasks including material handling, tool organization, and maintaining a clean, safe environment following OSHA policies. Participate in hands-on training and skill development to meet production schedules. Requires high school diploma, strong mechanical aptitude, and ability to lift 50 pounds. Overtime may be required; successful background and drug screening needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in machining or industrial repair
- Basic math skills and ability to perform measurements
- Ability to learn technical concepts and follow detailed instructions
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate machinery and hand tools after training
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work around industrial equipment
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school coursework in machining, manufacturing, welding, industrial maintenance, or a related field
- Apprenticeship, military mechanical training, or vocational training experience
- Prior experience in a machine shop, manufacturing facility, or industrial environment
- Experience using hand tools, measuring tools, or mechanical equipment
