Job Summary
Entry Level Kitchen Position in the Upper West Side focused on chef-in-training duties in a scratch-based DIG kitchen. Responsibilities include prep, mixing, and cooking vegetables, proteins, and grains using recipes, gaining exposure to stations (garde manger, grill, roast, market line, guest concierge, delivery/packout), communicating menu offerings to guests, supporting the team during peak and off-peak service, multi-tasking in a fast-paced kitchen, and upholding food safety standards in line with DIG’s policies. Required Qualifications
- A passion for real, good food and a desire to learn culinary practices and skills
- The ability to demonstrate and execute a strong work ethic
- The ability to perform physical requirements of the position (frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds)
- The ability to perform other physical requirements such as seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours
- A team-oriented focus and appreciation for the people you work with
