Job Summary
Assist experienced mechanics with inspection, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment and machinery. Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment installations while using hand and power tools safely. Lubricate machinery, replace components, and maintain a clean work area following OSHA requirements. Keep accurate records and communicate issues to supervisors to minimize downtime. Learn to read manuals, drawings, and schematics under direction.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods as required by the job
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field
- Previous manufacturing, mechanical, maintenance, automotive, or hands-on technical experience
- Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment
- Ability to learn mechanical troubleshooting and repair techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, pumps, and mechanical drive systems
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices
- Basic electrical or pneumatic knowledge
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers
