Job Summary
Conduct geotechnical field investigations, coordinate with drilling subcontractors and laboratory staff, and prepare boring logs and soil/rock classification reports. Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and report preparation for transportation, municipal, utility, and commercial projects. Support shallow and deep foundation design, pavement design, and settlement or slope stability evaluations while observing construction and troubleshooting geotechnical issues. Requires a BS in Civil Engineering, EIT preferred, and ability to travel up to 70% during the first year and a half.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel up to 70% during the first year to year and a half
- Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently while managing multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, subcontractors, and regulators
Desired Qualifications

- EIT
- ability to obtain EIT within 6 months
- 1 to 4 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Experience with geotechnical field investigations
- Experience preparing boring logs and classifying soil and rock samples
- Experience assisting with shallow/deep foundation design, pavement design, settlement, and slope stability evaluations
- Familiarity with geotechnical software such as gINT, BoreDM, LPile, SHAFT, Settle3, SLIDE, or similar programs
- Experience with TxDOT, municipal, utility, transportation, energy, or commercial development projects
- MS in Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis
