Job Summary
The Entry Level Field Scientist supports environmental field operations including groundwater and soil sampling, vapor intrusion studies, and monitoring well installations. Under supervision, the role involves assisting with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and adhering to safety protocols. Required skills include a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to execute technical sampling tasks. Candidates must have either an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields or a high school diploma with some labor experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related science field or a high school diploma and some construction or labor experience
- 0 – 1 year of experience in environmental consulting
- Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- 40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Operation (HAZWOPER) certification
- First Aid (FA)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- RCRA Certification
- USDOT HAZMAT Certification
- Asbestos Building Inspector certification
- Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor certification
Additional Requirements
- Completion of a successful background check
- Motor vehicle review and pre-employment drug screen required
- Current valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required
- Participation in random drug screening programs for certain projects
