Job Summary
Perform cost estimating for residential and commercial projects including site development, utilities, earthwork, demolition, and infrastructure support. Review blueprints and site data to define project scope, identify constructability risks, and solicit subcontractor pricing. Develop detailed quantity take-offs and cost build-ups, then prepare estimate summaries and bid breakdowns for executive leadership. Collaborate with project management on value-engineering alternatives and participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings. Requires 2+ years of excavation experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Reports to the Owner with core hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm ET.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
- 2+ years of excavation or construction industry experience
- Strong knowledge of excavation (earthmoving, site utilities, mass grading, infrastructure, hauling/aggregate, etc.)
- Able to interpret heavy civil project drawings and specifications
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented
- Solid negotiation skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office or Apple Products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong work ethic
