Job Summary
Review project plans, specifications, and client communications to understand project scope and requirements. Assist in preparing material take-offs and cost estimates using estimating software and company procedures. Support the estimating team with proposals, bid submissions, and pricing breakdowns while identifying potential project risks, cost impacts, and scheduling concerns. Respond to requests for pricing updates, value engineering options, and scope clarifications. Maintain organized project files, estimate documents, and bid records. Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to gather pricing and project information. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and blueprint reading required. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent educational/trade experience)
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and blueprint reading
- Strong interest in construction estimating and project planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PDF readers, and willingness to learn estimating software
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Desired Qualifications
- Internship, coursework, or prior exposure to construction, estimating, or project coordination
- Familiarity with construction terminology and estimating software
