Job Summary
Entry-level Energy Engineer to support energy and decarbonization work on a project and portfolio level. Responsibilities include supporting energy audits and carbon reduction assessments, energy benchmarking and utility analysis, assisting project and senior engineers with decarbonization and retro-commissioning studies, performing energy calculations and economic analysis for low-carbon retrofit solutions, conducting energy modeling using eQuest and IESVE, and performing site visits/data collection to document existing conditions. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited), 0-2 years of experience, EIT preferred with willingness to obtain in 1-2 years, interest in building decarbonization, coursework focused on the built environment and decarbonization, and knowledge of NYC climate and carbon-related laws. Location is New York City; on-site work. Compensation range is $70,000-$85,000 USD per year plus benefits."
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 0 - 2 years of experience in engineering
- EIT Certification preferred but not required with a willingness to obtain in 1-2 years
- Interest in building decarbonization
- College coursework focused on the built environment and building decarbonization
- Basic knowledge of New York City climate and carbon-related local laws
