Job Summary
Entry Level EHS / Quality Coordinator at Oldcastle CRH responsible for all aspects of quality in Growing Media and Mulch products at the plant level, including formulation oversight and testing; incoming raw material inspection, testing, and approval; ensuring compliance with established specifications; investigating and resolving customer quality complaints; administering and maintaining the EH&S program (OSHA, EPA); routine inspection of plant equipment for safe processes; preparing and submitting required reports; maintaining EH&S compliance; experience with lab/testing procedures and safety programs; manufacturing environment experience preferred; interest in horticulture a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree required; Associates Degree preferred
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions
- Adequate computer skills
- Ability to influence thinking, deal with and overcome resistance and objections, and to motivate change
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be able to problem-solve, with a strong sense of goal attainment
- Good housekeeping skills required
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping and reaching
- Standing for extended period of time
- Able to work under extreme conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust and dirt
