Job Summary
Diesel Technician - join Carvana's Fleet Maintenance team to keep a Class 8 truck and trailer fleet safe and reliable. Key duties include preventative maintenance, inspections, component replacements, diagnostics using diagnostic tools and a laptop, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and aftertreatment systems. You’ll address electrical diagnostics, perform system repairs, and collaborate to minimize downtime while maintaining DOT compliance. The role emphasizes growth through internal training (DTNA ARC Certification) and ASE certification reimbursement, plus competitive benefits and support for professional development.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals
- Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics
- MIG welding is a plus
- A minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (T-series ASE Certifications highly valued)
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, etc.)
- Strong attendance and punctuality
