Job Summary
Entry-level Data Engineer I at Cox Automotive within the Data & Analytics team. You will collaborate with data architects, analysts, visualization developers, and business stakeholders to build and maintain data assets in a cloud environment, apply automation to improve data quality, investigate data integrity issues, and participate in Agile development activities. You will gain hands-on experience with AI-powered coding assistants to accelerate development, and you will be exposed to cloud-native AI services and data platform concepts while following responsible AI practices. The role emphasizes learning, mentorship, and contributing to data pipelines that enable intelligent data processing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related analytical field
- Up to one year of professional, contract, or internship experience in data engineering
- Solid SQL skills and ability to write and troubleshoot queries
- Foundational Python programming skills
- Experience using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT) for code generation, completion, or review
- Familiarity with cloud-computing concepts; exposure to Snowflake and/or AWS environments is a plus
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn from a collaborative engineering team
