Job Summary
Entry-Level Construction Materials Laboratory Technician in Indianapolis, IN. You will perform and document tests on soil, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, maintain and calibrate lab equipment, and assist with obtaining certifications as you grow. You’ll collaborate with experienced technicians to ensure test results are thorough and accurate, and you may work early mornings, weekends, and overtime. The role involves handling lab instruments, recording test outcomes, and adhering to project-specific standards, with physical duties including lifting 40-50 lbs and occasional outdoor work in varying weather. High school diploma or GED required; industry certifications (ACI, ICC, DOT) are a plus and growth through certifications is encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- Active industry-related certifications (ACI: Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician) (preferred)
- ICC: Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils) (preferred)
- DOT Certifications in Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and effective English communication (speaking, reading, writing)
- Basic math skills (weight, volume, units)
- Understanding of fluctuating weekly schedule
- Valid employment eligibility (I-9)
